I’m a journalist, part-time university lecturer and freelance editor and copywriter. My byline appears in all manner of places including the Sydney Morning Herald, The Age, the ABC online and lots of good magazines in Australia and internationally.
I work from a home-based office in the south of Sydney and write feature articles and profiles across a very wide range of topics, including technology, health, environment, science, education, business, photography, law, food and ‘lifestyle.’
I’m the founder and moderator of Freeline (the Australian freelance journalists network) and am a long-term Media Alliance member. I’ve worked variously as a radio, magazine, newspaper and online journalist – but got sick of wearing shoes all day.
I currently teach environmental journalism at the Sydney campus of New York University and have taught at Southern Cross University Lismore, UTS, the NSW Writers Centre, the Australian College of Journalism and at the University of NSW. I spent several years as Manager of the Australian Centre for Independent Journalism; and I also do some corporate media training.
